Our thanks to...
Many people and organisations both in the UK and overseas have made an invaluable
contribution to the work and success of hospice information and its predecessor
organisation, the Hospice Information Service at St. Christopher's Hospice. We would
like to thank you all. Our thanks also to members of both the Hospice Information
Service and the new hospice information for your greatly valued support.
We would also like to gratefully acknowledge the support and contributions of the
following organisations:
Argos
Argos has provided huge support to Hospice Information, both via a grant from their charitable trust to help us fund the enquiry line, and via the in-store Tick to Give initiative. Product slips in all UK Argos branches feature a tick-box whereby customers can add 20p as a donation to Help the Hospices. All money raised from this initiative is helping to fund the Hospice Information service, so a huge thank you to Argos for their support.
The Daisy Foundation
David Praill, Chief Executive, Help the Hospices writes;
Deirdre Davis was a remarkable woman who radiated life through a peiod of
many years fighting cancer. The passion and skill that Deirdre brought to
living was present also as she confronted her own dying and planned her
legacy. Having also lost a sister with cancer, she was determined to
contribute to a service that would help others facing similar circumstances.
Originally she conceived of creating the ultimate web portal for cancer
information and support. Unfortunately this was not to be and within the
limited time available she decided to support hospice information and the
Princess Alice Hospice. In order to do this she set up the Daisy
Foundation, named after her mother, through which to channel her support.
As a result of this support it has been possible to plan the development of
hospice information in ways that we could not otherwise have dreamt.
hospice information is deeply grateful for this support and we look forward
to working with the Daisy Foundation in the future as we continue to develop
our service.
Macmillan Cancer Relief
hospice information would like to acknowledge the generous support of Macmillan
Cancer Relief in enabling publication of the Directory of Hospice and Palliative Care
Services and also its general funding.
Ayrshire Hospice
And our special thanks to Ayrshire Hospice and particularly their day-care patients for
kindly allowing us to use their paintings, tapestries and artwork in the design of this
website.
Prospect Hospice
"The hospice brings colour to my life." This quote from a daycare patient at
Prospect Hospice, Swindon provided the inspiration for the design of this
website. Our thanks to Prospect Hospice.
